The Maker War was the conflict that destroyed the Makers. The existence of this war is one of the few things scholars that study the Makers can agree upon. While the cause remains unclear, it appears that the Makers destroyed themselves in a great civil war. Some scholars speculate an arms race and natural tensions led to the outbreak of the war while others believe that one or more of the servitor races rose up in rebellion against their masters. Others insist that the Makers were destroyed by the Saurians, as it was clear that the Makers and Saurians were long at odds over the harvesting of phloxtite.
